Insulators cleaning
The Stenlypol Company, Minsk, Belarus offers
co-operation in the sphere of cleaning high-voltage insulators
for electric power plants, transformer substations, indoor and
outdoor switchgears.
Soiling of high-voltage insulators influences
very much its insulating properties, leads to insulation failures
and breakdowns of an expensive electric installation. In addition,
building up soiling leads to increase in conduction current of
insulators, thereof, to considerable loss during electric-power
transmission. Thereby, by using the know-how developed by Stenlypol
Company the customer extends the operating period of an insulator
itself, minimize the probability of its failure and stoppage of
the electric power plant for capital repair, contributes to energy
saving, cuts financial expenditures for its transmission. The last
becomes possible thanks to the cutback in leakage current in 4-5
times as the result of insulation cleaning. If one considers the
costs of insulators (appr. 20-100,000 USD), high-voltage converters
(appr. 1,500,000.00 USD) and repair costs after insulators’
failure it seems better to
follow simple cleaning procedures
regularly. Frequency of insulation cleaning of switchgears and
high-voltage bushings is set in concordance with the measurements
of an insulator’s surface resistivity. The cleaning should be
frequent enough to avoid surface soiling completely and occurrence
of discharge glows. For insulators’ cleaning special high-pressure
(150-400 bars) hydraulic equipment is used. Abrasive paste developed
by Stenlypol Company together with the usage of the
hydroabrasive
cleaning technology helps to remove organic and inorganic deposits
from the insulator’s surface without damage to the glaze coating.
Abrasive paste is environment friendly and has no ecological
effect if spilled on the ground.
