Flap Conic Discs (rigid) - one of the most widely employed types of flap discs. They are fabricated from a special grinding cloth of grits P36-P120 with the use of aluminum-oxide abrasive and synthetic zirconium corundum (for difficult-to-grind materials, for example, stainless steel).
    The naves employed in manufacturing these wheels can be made of metal, plastic or glass-reinforced plastic.
    As distinct from other types of flap wheels, grinding is carried out at speeds of about 80 m/s.
    Flap conic discs are mounted on manual angular grinding machines.
    Universality of these wheels makes it possible to use them for metal, wood, plastic and stone machining.
    They found extensive use in machine-construction (tractor-, automobile-, carriage-, aircraft-, and ship-construction), in manufacturing various containers, tanks, girders and other welded metal structures.
    Flap conic discs are primarily used for removing rust and scale, preparing surfaces for welding, cleaning welds, deburring and surface grinding.
    Due to their structural features, flap conic discs are indispensable in machining welded and other joints in not easily accessible places (angular joints of pipes and parts of intricate shape), cleaning edges on "overlapping" welding, etc.
